Budapest

Budapest
Budapest, officially the capital of Hungary and popularly known as the “Queen of the Danube,” has been formed by a truly rich (if slightly turbulent) mix of cultures throughout the past millennia. Since the Celtic Eravisci tribe settled the area in the fourth century B.C., it has been home to the Romans, Mongols, Ottomans, and Habsburgs, among others.

It was this last group which left perhaps the most notable mark on the city, constructing the impressive and opulent structures atop “Castle Hill.” The illustrious coffeehouses of Budapest offer a brief break from sightseeing, while the National Theatre and Opera House add a taste of more modern culture to this city’s rich historic traditions.

We at etr have been showing students around Budapest since 1990 and most programmes are in combination with its historical neighbor and rival, Vienna or alternatively, the jewel of the Czech Republic, Prague.

With etr you can enjoy the splendor of two capitals on a one week exploration. After all, would you want it any other way?

Our Airline Partners

airlines

For over 24 years etr has enjoyed partnerships with the world’s leading airlines including British Airways, Thai Airways, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Singapore Airlines, LAN Airlines, Royal Jordanian, South African Airlines, Swiss International, Air France, Austrian and Cathay Pacific, amongst others. And as airline agents we can secure for you the lowest available fares, even from remote locations, and even from some of Europe’s budget airlines. What we often suggest to many of our out-of-Europe client schools is for them to get a fare from a local agent and we’ll get one from our airline contacts here…and then use the lowest one. As we do not mark up airfares, you benefit financially. Take advantage of our flight expertise…all at no cost to you.
