Sorrento & Pompeii

Sorrento & Pompeii
It’s easy to see why the Sorrentine peninsula was a favorite vacation residence of the Roman emperor Augustus. Perched above the azure Bay of Naples, he could gaze on rows of olive trees and the hazy outline of a quiet Mount Vesuvius.
All of our local guides were excellent once again. We would love to keep the same for next year. Pizzeria Franco was a great new addition! The Pizza School was once again excellent and a wonderful way to end our trip.JT and her students explored Pompeii and Herculanum with etr in May 2013

Two thousand years later, the landscape is still breathtaking and the view still tranquil. In nearby Herculaneum and Pompeii, however, history tells a more troubled tale. As we visit the lava-bound cities, we’ll discover life in the 1st century A.D. and learn about the archaeology that brought their treasures to light.

Buried under mud and ash for more than 1500 years, these marvels of art and urban design will excite the imagination and give new perspective on the rich history of the Roman Empire.

Our Airline Partners

For over 24 years etr has enjoyed partnerships with the world’s leading airlines including British Airways, Thai Airways, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Singapore Airlines, LAN Airlines, Royal Jordanian, South African Airlines, Swiss International, Air France, Austrian and Cathay Pacific, amongst others. And as airline agents we can secure for you the lowest available fares, even from remote locations, and even from some of Europe’s budget airlines. What we often suggest to many of our out-of-Europe client schools is for them to get a fare from a local agent and we’ll get one from our airline contacts here…and then use the lowest one. As we do not mark up airfares, you benefit financially. Take advantage of our flight expertise…all at no cost to you.
