Our students were both impressed with the organization of the trip and delighted by their experiences. They particularly appreciated being able to help at the school and are already talking about donating/sponsoring children/going back in the summer.
The trip was wonderful, and both Kent and Vishnu were incredible guides.
One currently popular program is a six night Kathmandu base program which provides four days of service at one of Kathmandu’s needy orphanage / school. The physical work will consist of cleaning, painting and general refurbishment while the interaction comes in the form of teaching English or math, sharing story-telling or teaching a game new to the residents. When not at the site, we will explore the capital and venture to highlights such as Durbar Square, the hill top Swayambhunath temple and the dominating Buddhist stupa of Boudhanath in Little Tibet. We’ll engage with experts on social issues such as health, poverty, human trafficking as well as the positive effects of social entrepreneurship. The program can end with either a nearby day long trek along the hills of the Kathmandu valley, or, time permitting, a two day, one night trek.
As all etr programs are custom designed, we can amend the duration and program of visits to meet your criteria. Recommended duration: six or seven nights.
