The paramount monument of Ancient Classical Times now has its own Museum at last.
With the June 2009 opening of the new Acropolis Museum, etr student groups will now be able to view up close the art and artifacts once found on the sacred rock and surrounding slopes thereby gaining a greater understanding of its architectural and religious significance. The museum’s visitor-friendly opening hours coupled with easy access (museum location is just 280 meters from the Parthenon) means these venues, the museum and the site, can be explored in a time-efficient manner.
