The period around New Year's is one of our favorite times of the year. There's a fresh energy, special focus and spirited enthusiasm, both in our offices and among our ground staff, as we begin again to welcome our student groups in destinations around the globe.
And speaking of the New Year, just last week we hosted our first 2012 student group traveling to Russia. This year is our 22nd operating in Russia and as the accompanying teacher reported the trip "all went perfectly!" See more.
Besides St Petersburg, Berlin continues to be one of etr's coolest destinations. The 20th century comes alive in Germany's capital as we explore WWII and the Cold War and marvel at exquisite art and architecture. See more on our featured destination below.
Teacher interest in our community service programs in South Africa, Cambodia and Bali has also increased substantially. With so many options to consider, contact us today for more information.
Wishing you all the best during the year of the Dragon…and safe travels.
Best Regards, Greg Godar, Director

"Força, equilibri, valor i seny" ("Strength, balance, courage and common sense") is the motto of those who have performed this traditional activity since the 18th century in one of etr's long standing (no pun intended) destinations. Given the effort, we would guess that coordination and patience also help. How high do they go? Well, in the early 70's, it was not unusual for these human castles to hit 7 stories, while in the early 80's, 8 stories was the norm. By the end of the 90's, complex 9-story castles were built. Quite a feat. So in which country will you find this local tradition? Drop us an email by 1st February with the name of the etr destination country and you just might win an iPad 2.
