The territory of both Old and New Testaments, settled by Greeks, Romans and Arabs, including the legendary Bedouin, Jordan offers deep layers of history embedded in a remarkable land. One of the most striking features of the landscape are Jordan’s desert castles, built at the time of the Crusaders, which run up the spine of the land from the Red Sea to Syria. Amman, the capital, is a modern city built on an ancient foundation across several hills, and crowned by the ruined Temple of Hercules. The Dead Sea, shared with Israel, is the lowest point on earth, 400 meters below sea level, and famously salty. An etr Jordan Adventure combining history, archaeology, geology and geography, with the right dose of rest & recreation to ease things along, is surely the ideal way to visit this fascinating, still little-touristed land. Two words, Greg
Utterly unforgettable! [etr tour leader] Carole was awesome! You can be assured that we will be using your services again. Meanwhile, can you send me a copy of etr's trip to China and Tibet, as I would love to get a group of teachers and parents together to do it soon?.
