An etr Prague Adventure is a heady plunge into a city of great culture and sophistication, great charm and mystery, a programme which has been developed and refined since our first group at the time of the Velvet Revolution. Are you ready to have us show you our Prague?
- The word "Czech" is an adjective and therefore should not be used as the abbreviated name of the country.
- The world premiere of Mozart’s Don Giovanni took place in Prague on October 29, 1787

- Tennis star Martina Navrátilová was born in Prague.
Hněv je špatný rádce.
Anger is a bad advisor.
Prague International Airport, located just 20 kilometers from Old Town Square, is served by 50 scheduled airlines offering mostly direct flights from uncountable destinations. Rail service from many cities of Germany as well as from Vienna is fast and efficient. Contact us for more specific information.
Prague is an ideal student destination for a four night program allowing for three full days of exploration. However, many of our groups combine Prague with easily accessible destinations such as Krakow, Budapest or Vienna for perfect six or seven night programs. Let us know more about your desired outcome of the tour and we are happy to outline different possibilities for you.
Truly, there really is no bad time to explore Prague. As the capital enjoys an agreeable climate from spring through fall, during this period the city is alive (and on weekends, teeming) with visitors. The winter, though often with snow and low temperatures, is a great time as crowds are rare and the pace allows for a more peaceful, and some would say, rewarding exploration. And don’t forget the historic Prague Christmas Market, which runs from late November to early January, is a special, and traditional, holiday treat.
The Czech capital, located in the heart of central Europe, offers so much to our middle and high school groups that it is difficult to list all the highlights. However, we’ve narrow it down to the following:
- Marvel at the Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque, Rococo and Art Nouveau buildings and churches of Prague’s famous Old Town Square, Europe’s largest market in the 11th century.
- Stroll across the oldest stone (and most photographed) bridge in Europe, Karlův most, also known as the Charles Bridge, and learn of Prague’s important role in trade over the centuries.
- Gather at the famous Astronomical Clock when it strikes on the hour for a show performed for at least 600 years.
- Put Soviet influence of the 20th century into perspective with a visit to the Communist Museum.
- Enjoy the popular Czech dessert, palačinky, a thin pancake filled with ice cream, cream, fruit or jam.
- Visit the intimate Alfons Mucha museum for insight into the most famous Czech art nouveau celebrity.
- Ramble up to Strahov Monastery for wonderful views of the spires and rooftops of Prague. After all, Prague is rightly known as the “City of a Thousand Spires”.
- Appreciate Prague’s long association with classical music at an orchestral or choir performance in a nearby church.
- Explore Hradcany and the many historic architectural jewels of the Prague castle complex.
- Learn the history of Prague’s Jewish community with visits to synagogues, the museum and the atmospheric (and ancient) Jewish cemetery.
- Absorb the atmosphere of Terezin, designed by Nazi leadership to be the ‘model’ concentration camp, and the role of the camp in WWII.
- Get the best shot of the gothic (and oft photographed) Gun Powder Tower from along Hybernska.
- Be immersed in the wonders of Art Nouveau design and architecture (and enjoy a coffee in the original period café) at the Municipal House.
- Wander away from the tourist path of the Royal Mile while we explore the narrow lanes littered with local cafes, shops and surprises.
- Explore variations of the traditional (and hearty) Czech cuisine.
- Listen intently as our black cloaked guide relays spooky and scandalous tales of life in old Prague while leading us along narrow alleys and lanes on an evening ghost tour of Old Town.
