In 1993, etr began operating trekking programs to Nepal. After all these years, and all the trips we do, the etr Nepal Adventure remains one of the most sought-after trips in the etr repertory. Though all etr Nepal programs are custom designed, most groups opt to include three distinct aspects which complement each other fully: an in-depth look at the historic, religious, and ethnic diversity of the capital Kathmandu; an appreciation of wildlife and environmental issues while in the Chitwan National Park; and, of course, the understanding and rigorous physical challenge of a rural community service activity.
On this cultural pilgrimage, students will gain insight into the art and architecture, the history and traditions, and, of course, cuisine of India. This is the home to the Dali Llama in exile, the holy waters of the River Gagnes, the pearly brilliance of the Taj Mahal, ancient Hindu temples, Mahatma Gandhi, and Mother Teresa. Found here is also three of the world's major religions, presenting a living testament to religious diversity.
